This pretty, Grade II listed, detached property, standing in its own grounds, dates from the late 16th century and was once a Tudor toll house said to have been in the family of Anne Boleyn. It provides a cosy, romantic getaway, and is less than a mile from the Lulworth Cove and spectacular Jurassic Coast. The whole area offers great walking and cycling country and lots of popular attractions including Swanage Steam Railway, Dulston Country Park and Thomas Hardy Country, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum and Weymouth with its Georgian seafront. You can also explore the small village of Corfe (NT) famous for its beautiful castle. The famous Fossil Forest is also nearby, which takes you back 135 million years ago, where there are the remains of algae and mud that collected around tree stumps and fossilised to form doughnut-shaped structures. Further along the coast there are the ripple marks of an ancient beach. Also visit Lulworth Cove Heritage Centre, packed with local history, and recently expanded to accommodate more exhibitions, such as a geology section, fossil section together with displays of smuggling and sailing.
