"A truly magical estate to escape to and unwind..."

High in the Devon hills above the Taw/Torridge estuaries Webbery Manor Estate is an oasis of rural tranquillity. Steeped in history and with several noteworthy owners, Webbery Manor Estate was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It was given to Nicholas the Crossbowman, by a grateful William the Conqueror as a Saxon manor. In the 17th century it passed to the Lippincott family, one of whom set sail with the Mayflower flotilla to settle in America. In the 18th century, John Cutcliffe, the grandson of the owner, fought at the battle of Waterloo and was personally promoted by the Duke of Wellington.
Set in 30 acres of parkland and woods, with grazing sheep, deer, owls, pheasant, birds of prey and other wildlife. The delightful gardens have numerous specimen trees and banks of rhododendrons giving a spectacular spring display. While the organic walled kitchen gardens grow some more unusual varieties of vegetables to the UK. You will find Romanesco, Cavelo Nero, and Pink Fir Apple potatoes to name a few, all complimentary subject to season and availability.
Once the estate’s cider press Appleloft is a spacious, two-bedroomed semi-detached cottage with gallery and vaulted ceiling. Beautifully decorated and furnished, with a blend of antique and period pieces, period furniture and modern amenities. The living/dining room has solid oak floors, hand-made curtains, period furniture, mountains of cushions, and stylish wood-burning stove on slate hearth to keep you warm. The well-equipped bespoke kitchen is just the place for a family breakfast, with double range cooker, farmhouse table and wood floor. While the galleried landing leads to the bedrooms and luxurious bathroom, with elegantly tiled period suite. The light and airy double bedroom has duel aspect windows, vaulted beamed ceiling and iron bed frame. While the light and peaceful twin bedroom has crisp fresh linen, and fluffy pillows.
The sea is never far away with long sandy beaches at Instow, Woolacombe and Saunton all easily reached. After a long day exploring, come home for an alfresco supper from the shared barbecue and gazebo. Fishing and horse riding can be found within 5 miles. Shops and pubs 5 miles.
